BSH Home Appliances said it has no option but to increase the prices of its refrigerators and washing machines owing to intensive supply chain disruptions like a shortage of electronic components and costs of commodities like crude oil spiking, Neeraj Bahl, managing director and CEO of the European home appliances maker told ET. “The high price of crude oil is then clubbed with logistics cost and cargo,” he explained. “And then, the cherry on the cake is the absolute shortage of electronics and taking the prices helter-skelter to any unprecedented level. And we have no option. So we are also increasing the price of refrigerators which have just launched in this month itself and washing machines on the first of April.”
