Aldi Lowered the Prices of More Than 250 Food Items
Aldi is combating food price inflation for the second summer.
The grocery store is lowering the prices on more than 250 products, PEOPLE confirms. The chain claims that the changes will help customers save $100 million through Labor Day, Items ranging from pantry staples (like pinto beans and avocado oil) to seafood and meat (like chicken and sirloin steak) are all part of the reduced pricing — some of which are 2023 Aldi Fan Favorites.
A family pack of chicken breast went from $2.49 to $2.19. The discounts can be as little as 10 cents to more than $1.50, but no matter how small or large the discount, the total savings are immense.
Aldi’s estimated $100 million in savings is almost double the $60 million number that the national grocer reportedly saved customers last summer with similar price cuts. They can keep prices down by maintaining smaller stores and keeping the foods in the original boxes and packaging that they were delivered in.
